Avebe’s sustainability ambition is driven by the belief that responsible business performance and sustained success go hand in hand. We aim to reduce our impact on climate, water and natural resources, while supporting resilient farming and delivering solutions that help our customers meet their own sustainability goals.
This ambition is aligned with international frameworks, including the Paris Climate Agreement and the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.
Responsibility
Our sustainability efforts are concentrated on several core focus areas that are most relevant to our business and value chain:
- Responsible agriculture: Together with our members, we work on continuous improvement in starch potato cultivation, focusing on quality, efficiency and responsible farming practices.
- Efficient and responsible operations: Processing potatoes into high value ingredients requires energy and water. We invest in technology and process optimisation to reduce emissions, improve efficiency and use resources more responsibly across our production sites.
- Product solutions with impact: Our potato-based ingredients enable customers to develop products with a lower environmental footprint, supporting the shift towards plant-based and resource efficient applications in food, feed and industry.
- Responsible value chains: We work with partners and suppliers who share our standards and values, aiming for transparency, responsible sourcing and long term collaboration throughout the value chain.
Data driven insights
Sustainability at Avebe is driven by clear targets and data driven insights. We monitor our performance across key indicators such as emissions, energy use, water consumption, and circularity.
Our progress and ambitions are reported transparently through our integrated reporting, in line with evolving regulatory and stakeholder expectations.
