Wet-end retention
Amylofax® is a 100% natural potato starch derivative with high flocculation properties and maximum binding power. Added to the wet end, it improves starch retention within complex wet-end systems and contributes to internal dry strength and surface strength development. This reduces waste of raw materials and simplifies the water treatment required on that end while simultaneously improving the quality of your paper.
Tissue internal sizing
Avebe’s cationic potato starches in the Amylofax® range are ideal for internal sizing of tissue products. Added during the wet-end stage, they bond to the negatively charged fibres and improve internal dry strength and retention. These two factors determine how strong and consistent a tissue product feels in use. Where additional workability or water retention is required, Amylofax® combines effectively with Solvitose® for a complete wet-end solution.
